I have a MightyLady address, which I emailed to this morning (They are the same person, right?) expressing Sycamore's interest in finding her. I will post again if the email bounces to let you know if it turns out to no longer be good.

Folks, I'm alive and well and have sent a new note to Syc.

I've busy working a crappy job, falling in love, moving my love to a new city and state, looking for work in that same area so that I can move, driving 150 miles round trip once and sometimes twice a week to spend time in my (new)home in the other state, and trying to keep enough of a regular schedule so that my diabetic kitty stays regulated!

Since most jobs are found by networking, does anyone here know of any jobs on the east side of Cleveland, OH? Specifically, I'd like to work in the Mentor/Painesville area. My strongest area is QC/QA, and I also have associate degrees in electronic engineering technology and computer network administration.

For future reference, I can be reached at [email protected], the addy I've had since 1998. I also have a business addy I use for my resume; if anyone wants it, send me an e at the mightylady addy and I will give you the other addy. I'm trying to keep the business addy as free of spam as possible or I would post it here.

Ciao, folks. Having given you the whirlwind tour of my current life, I'm off to finish the second half of my workday (imagine! a 4-hour lunch that let me come home but really eats up the day). It feels good to stop by and type a few words at you. Maybe I'll try to be a little more frequent with the posts in the future.

Good to see that life's treating you well, Bee.

Just a warning, too...do not supply your business email address to any resume "blasting" service, should you go that route. Or, expect to see a minimum of 200% increase in spam that sneaks through the filters. Naturally, the service isn't responsible for that increase.

    Cool

Thanks for the hugs and kind words, folks. I'm glad some of you remember who I am.

Wizz, if life is treating me well, it's because I learned some hard lessons from my most spectacular screw-ups. I'm a little wiser these days because of my past, not in spite of it.

Thanks for the info about resumes and e-mail addys. So far, I've been using the newspaper and tailoring my resume to each place to which I apply. Goodness knows, I don't need more spam!

Later, folks. I have to balance my checkbook... a task I've been neglecting for over a month.

[Note to self: Create Emergency Repair Disk, and Back-up everything.]

So, last Monday night I'm working on the computer (working at home has its advantages -- flexible schedule -- and its disadvantages -- I'm always at work). And the hard drive crashed. Like a big dog. I tried everything I could think of, no luck. It wouldn't boot up in safe mode, wouldn't go back to last saved configuration, wouldn't do squat.

I ended up reloading Windows 2000 (what fun!) and Office 2000. Lost all my bookmarks, and e-mail addresses. Not to mention the hundreds (and I do mean hundreds) of work-related e-mails that I'd kept for historical and reference purposes. And to prove to some people that yes I did send them an e-mail about that on this date....

I would have bet my next paycheck that I'd already created a repair disk. I was sure I had done it. I nearly tore the place apart looking for it. I guess it was one of those things I always meant to get around to but never quite did.

I am too stupid to own a computer.

But it seems to be okay now. So far.

I hope everybody had a happy Easter.

    (I couldn't find a bunny icon.)

I hear ya Fan. I just upgraded my Work PC from Wintows NT ( my god that was old) to windows 2000. Much better. And i can download better version s of other software that did not support NT. Unfortuantely, I lost a lot of major stuff also.
